Caring Place

Meals are served at 6:00pm

The Caring Place is a community wide manifestation of the Christian principle of caring for one another. The purpose of The Caring Place is to provide hot meals for those in need. No questions are asked of those who seek the sustenance, nor is response of any kind owed by the recipients.

Support for The Caring Place is provided by Churches, organizations and individuals who wish to share their God-given abundance with those in need.

Meeting time - Monday, 8:30 - 9:30pm.

Alcoholics Anonymous is an international mutual aid fellowship founded in 1935 by Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith in Akron, Ohio. AA states that its primary purpose is "to stay sober and help other alcoholics achieve sobriety". With other early members Wilson and Smith developed AA's Twelve Step program of spiritual and character development. AA's Twelve Traditions were introduced in 1946 to help the fellowship be stable and unified while disengaged from "outside issues" and influences. The Traditions recommend that members and groups remain anonymous in public media, altruistically helping other alcoholics and avoiding affiliations with any other organization. The Traditions also recommend that those representing AA avoid dogma and coercive hierarchies. Subsequent fellowships such as Narcotics Anonymous have adopted and adapted the Twelve Steps and the Twelve Traditions to their respective primary purposes.

Meeting Time - Friday, 7:00 - 8:30pm

Narcotics Anonymous describes itself as a "nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem". Narcotics Anonymous uses a traditional 12-step model that has been expanded and developed for people with varied substance abuse issues. and it is the second-largest 12-step organization.
