The mission of Toward Independence is to assist individuals with developmental disabilities to live the fullest life possible by providing individualized services in a variety of community settings. Founded in 1975, our agency has been a resource for quality, caring services for more than 39 years!

Cross Connect A new ministry dedicated to ending poverty in Greene County is starting in Xenia. Cross Connect, was started by Rex and Becki Robinson. A pastor for more than 30 years, Rex has had extensive experience with people in financially difficult or impoverished situations.
Our goals are to provide case managers for families in need, volunteers to help remove debris and mud from homes, donated material items and spiritual care. The Lutheran congregations, through LDR Ohio, are able to support families whether government assistance is available or not. Families need safe, sanitary and secure homes and LDR Ohio volunteers are available by calling the LDR Ohio office at 740-732-6700 or Mary Woodward, Disaster Coordinator at 740-509-1132.
Graceworks Lutheran Services has advanced its mission and values since its incorporation in 1926. Our programs and services are offered in 50 locations throughout southwest Ohio, southeast Indiana and northern Kentucky. Our programs include senior living, credit counseling, job training, and housing and care for special populations. Our new name, Graceworks Lutheran Services, became effective in January 2006 and expresses a motivation to offer works in faithful response to God's grace. The name captures our organization's Lutheran heritage and conveys the rich meaning associated with our work.

Lutheran Outdoor Ministries in Ohio (LOMO) is a year-round ministry serving the three Ohio synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. All of the LOMO sites are ACA accredited. Safety is of our utmost concern.
The National Interfaith Hospitality Network is a national, non-profit organization that assists religious and community organizations in developing and operating Network programs. The Greene County IHN has been open since 1995. Our goal is to alleviate homelessness by fostering the development of Networks that provide shelter, meals, and assistance for homeless persons, and that increases community involvement in direct service and advocacy.
Wernle Youth & Family Treatment Center is a family focused, child centered agency providing opportunities for the growth, development and treatment of troubled children and their families - individually, interpersonally and socially – through best-practice programs and a variety of therapy approaches.
Habitat for Humanity of Greene County is an ecumenical Christian housing ministry that works in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with God’s people in need. HFHGC builds and renovates houses it sells to families, so there are decent houses in decent communities, in which people can live and grow into all God intended.
On behalf of the church, in witness to Christ, this agency's mission is to serve troubled or potentially troubled children and youth from infancy through transition into adulthood, with those significant to them, working toward their mental, social, physical and spiritual well-being.
